Green cloth elaborately decorated in brown, black and gilt, pretty floral end papers, boards rubbed and edge worn with a bit of foxing, gilt decoration is bright, corners starting to wear through with a bit of fraying, gift inscription in preliminary blank pages dated 1884, occasional scattered foxing and brown age spots throughout, pages lightly toned, binding sound. Collection of illustrated stories about four friends -- Madge and Margie Moore, Birdy Starr, and Master Bobbly Reynolds. These stories by Mrs. Mary Brine were popular in the day, and sold in various volumes for children in the late Victorian era.
