Oblong, 7 x 10 1/4 inches, 168 numbered pages plus 4 pages of advertisements, profusely illustrated with black and white photographs; brown buckram boards with light wear at extremities, light bump to top front corner, previous owner's name (Barbara Davies) at top of front end paper, internally clean and bright with sound binding. This yearbook belonged to Dorothy A(melia) Elliott, who was one of the members of the first graduating class at Reed College. She was the daughter of T. C. Elliott, notable Pacific Northwest and Oregon historian. Founded in 1911, Reed is a small liberal arts college located in Portland, Oregon. Known for its intellectually curious students and academically rigorous environment, Reed has produced 32 Rhodes Scholars and 103 Fulbright Scholars, both out-sized totals for a school of its size. Students are known as "Reedies." Loaded with photos of students, teachers, clubs and activities including all the fashions and uniforms of the time.
